The Araucaria collaboration meeting 2024 will take place at Paris Observatory, mainly in the Denisse room, that is located near the entrance of the Observatory (see map below). You can click on the green link above to have more informations on how to acess the Paris Observatory site.

Paris Observatory is located in the central area of Paris, close to the metro 4/RER B station Denfert-Rochereau. Contrary to what was previously announced, we will not have a day at the Meudon site, the whole meeting will take place at the Paris site.

To go to Paris from the two airports (Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle / Orly) and then to travel within Paris, I would suggest that you use the Paris 2024 Pass , that was created for the Olympic games. It gives you access to all kinds of public transportation for 1 day (16€) to 7 days (70€). You may purchase this ticket in advance through a smartphone app: https://www.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/en/tickets-fares/detail/paris2024-pass and you can directly use your smartphone (if it has an NFC chip) to open the station gates.

 The Paralympic Games (28/8 - 9/9) will take place during the meeting. They will not be as busy as the Olympic games, but there will be some animation. The restrictions of circulation in Paris will be limited and should not afct us too much.

We do not have specific recommentations for hotels, but a large diversity of accomodations can be found on reservation platforms such as Booking.com, Hotels.com, Tripadvisor.com, Hostelworld.com or Airbnb.com. It is sometimes more economical to contact directly the hotels than to reserve through these plafforms.
